SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
Only you could make a chemtrail look artistic! I love the graphic quality of these.
ReplyDeleteI could only access this by way of Laurie's blog. I agree with Laurie. Only you could make a chemtrail look artistic. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI also got a chance to see your Wowzio Panoramic slideshow. What a treat!
ReplyDeletewhereas I saw the last sky captures as rich in layers this trio reminds me a of a minimalist abstract painting. Very spare
ReplyDeleteLaurie and Dixie Jane: Thanks so much! It's rather easy, really. I just look through the vieafinder and there it is. And I also do some cropping.
ReplyDeletePas Adj: Right. Strong minimalist influences. I think Robert Motherwell shows up, as well.
ReplyDeleteI particularly like this one as the lighter one is intersecting with the two darker ones. :)
ReplyDeletesometimes I can't fully appreciate what really good photographers can capture until I try to do it myself. Tonight the sky was blood red and I climbed a hill and took some pictures. On play back, there was only a rosy ribbon far off in the distance.
ReplyDeleteHiker: I was outside yesterday myself taking photos. It was red down toward the horizon with lots of yelllow above. You'll see them soon here.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a surprise to see a red sky? I never really saw the color until I began my series of pastels of skies.
