SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
Your doing a good job with the digital camera. I'm enlarging the images in order to appreciate them more. Spectacular up close
ReplyDeletePasAdj: Yes, they look much like the real ones when enlarged. You can see the overlays of color and the stroke of the pastels. This one gets its intensity from the use of pure, dry pigment which I pushed into the paper.
ReplyDeleteThey do look sharp up close. Amazing the difference tripod vs hand-held.
ReplyDeletePasAdj: Confession: I had some help photographing some of these, as my assistant has noted.
ReplyDeleteSharp and spectacular. These really represent the originals beautifully!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this so much. Sorry I missed these latest posts!!! I'm such a cloud nut (as you know) and this almost has a Texas sky feel to it.
ReplyDeleteLaurie: Yeah, these do really look like the originals when enlarged, at least on my somewhat small screen.
ReplyDeleteJudy: This does look very Texas, though I did it right here.
A sky ocean.
ReplyDeletestudio assistant? I see you too have a crew
ReplyDeleteHiker: Sky ocean. Great image!!! btw...I really like your new photo!
ReplyDeletePasAdj: Occassionaly, anyway, though I could use a weekly one. I had one in my storefront studio on Figueroa and it really made a difference.
Great seeing you guys last night. You could have had dinner, gotten smashed and come back. The thing took hours
ReplyDeletePasAdj: Good to see you guys too. I'm sending you an email, so check it soon.
ReplyDeleteThe sky was amazing tonight, like two different worlds: Thundery to the east and calm to the west.
ReplyDeleteHiker: Yes, we were out in it, enjoying it all !
