SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
An interesting black & white color photo.
ReplyDeleteTo bad you can't get "LEAVE THE SKY ALONE' funded. That would be very funny. Do you think Bruce Nauman is listening?
ReplyDeleteDon't mess with the sky or the land? Does that make the water free game? Cool "x"es and slashes.
ReplyDeleteThis has such layered meaning -- since many say those lines in the sky are chemtrails and would, indeed, like the government not to mess with the sky.
ReplyDeleteVery cool commentary on art and politics. This is my favorite series of yours yet.
Thank you Cafe, pasadjacent, Jean and Laurie for your comments! I am so glad to have had such insight into this series!
ReplyDeleteAnd I am especially appreciative to Bruce Nauman for the timely chance to post this work.
I agree with everyone, but you know I also think it looks like a strand of DNA, and I think that that tells a whole different story.
ReplyDeleteMargaret:What an interesting comment!Thanks.
ReplyDeleteYou are really working on something provocative with this series. It's just great.
