SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
Ha! Matt and I went to grad school together.

ReplyDeleteWell he certainly scored a big time interview with Rutberg! I'm wondering if you watched the whole thing.
I have many comments but haven't had time to get them on here yet.
I made it through the first interview but when I get some time to catch my breath, I'm going to watch them all. Right now I'm going to bed early
ReplyDeleteI did go back and watch. Love Matt for being an Irish working class wit and bull shiter, but in truth I never saw the guy make a single work of art when we were in school together. He loves the argumentative gossip side of the art world. Then the ten great Artist thing that J Rutberg brings up??? I'll plead the post modern fifth on that (who decides who decides). I liked the idea of a museum of philosophy. Than that conversation went in a condescending direction. As the interview continued it seemed they both fell into contradicting themselves. One thing I walked away with that made sense is the early "whose art world" and the parallel/intersections that occur within it.
ReplyDeleteI found this to be an interesting interview (and of course problematic) with Dave Hickey. Heres the link to the first of four interviews that you'll find on You Tube

They sure look/sound like the art establishment!
ReplyDeleteHi. I finally watched the first segment. It really plays a bit like My Dinner with Andre. Looking forward to the remaining segments. (And I hope there's more from the waitress.) Thanks for posting this.
ReplyDeleteGreat comments! Thanks. I'll still get in a few thoughts later.
