Artist Shanna Galloway Documents The Changing Sky Outside Her Hillside Home/Studio

First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.

I welcome your interpretations.

  1. when there is no Michaelangelo
    or Botticelli
we can count upon the summer sky
    to bring forth a canvas
    making each moment
    more magnificent
    than the last

  2. Less frothy and playful than the one above, and less formally perfect. But also for me, with the large dark shape and more contrast, more urgent and rooted (earthy?), if one can say that about an image of the sky,

  3. arf: More contradictions...rooted and earthy ( in the sky).
