SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
This whole series is very Biblical.
ReplyDeleteextraterrestrial. Shot from a space ship reentering the gravity field of Arcturus IV. I think it looks unreal, almost like a Disney cel, because of the contrasty oranges in the lower quarter of the frame.
ReplyDeleteI love these comments and knowing what the images evoke in your imagination!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep them coming!
Sky geometry. The top one is a familiar, beloved sight.
ReplyDeleteMy husband found something I thought you'd like: http://www.pbase.com/kcrowd/image/56633429
Petrea: Thanks! I looked up Ken Crowder's photos and really enjoyed them.
ReplyDeleteJudy, it is interesting that these came out looking Biblical to you. But then, I did photograph them on Good Friday and post them early on Easter. It was not even intentional, really.
ReplyDeleteThe gradation of faded denim blues to fiercely dramatic tangerine, streaks passing by in every direction. It gives off a crescendo effect. Operatic for me.
ReplyDeleteYour view has me looking more carefully at the skies. On a recent visit to the Poppy fields Mr V and I pulled over off the 14 and got the most dramatic cloud photos. Something we need on a future project.
Pas Adj: And I have been spending the last couple of days looking at poppies. There are some good ones one entrances to the 134 north of Colorado.
