SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
I remember a cloud over similar to this when Mr V and I were headed towards the valley. You could see the light hitting the valley hills in the far distance but we ourselves were completely under this huge rainless dark cloud. It was a strange experience.
ReplyDeleteTo me, the late paintings of Mark Rothko come to mind.
ReplyDeleteOkay, you must have turned this image upside down... How is the light coming from underneath? What a cool shot.
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of Rothko. (A painter whose work YOU, brilliant one, helped me to fully appreciate.)
Laurie: Nope - no upside down. Right from the camera.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got the Rothco reference!
Oh, that's too cool. There is definitely an otherwordly vibe to this series. Love love love it.
