SKIES OF THE ARROYO SECO
First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.
I welcome your interpretations.
Leave a comment. I really appreciate them !
It is very interesting photos you have shot by viewing the sky...
ReplyDeleteThis especially blows me away, along with #2: the shifting colors from left to right and top to bottom, the broad strokes of the larger clouds, and the focused (and in-focus) detail of the smaller clouds in the lower part of the photo.
ReplyDeleteThe Sky is the Limit. The adoption of the expression was no doubt influenced by the invention of the aeroplane. The phrase was picked up and used as the title of a Fred Astaire/Joan Leslie film at another time of intense interest in powered flight, in the middle of WWII - 1943.
ReplyDeleteWhen I viewed your latest photograph I couldn't help but remember this phrase. You have proved that there are limitless skies. All lovely.
Dixie Jane, that was an interesting bit of knowledge to add to the comments. I always perk up when people are able to provide context to our obsessions.
ReplyDeleteThis is a particularly gorgeous sky. Arfs got it. From fuzzy/large to articulate and small. Draw/paint this one
Jorgen: Welcome to my site! And,thank you!
ReplyDeleteDixie Jane: A wonderful comment. Thank you for your insight and the context you have given! I had not thought of that phrase in relation to what I do.
Pas.Adj.: Boy, you said it... context for our obsessions.
I am thinking of doing something with this one, though I have never worked from photos before. Good analysis.
