Artist Shanna Galloway Documents The Changing Sky Outside Her Hillside Home/Studio

First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.

  1. Did you see the sky last night?! It looked awesome, at least from Pasadena. I thought of you.

  2. Me too, CP. Now when I see a great sky, Shanna pops into my mind.

  4. Is the sun still above the horizon at this point? I took some shots Tuesday when the sky was glowing like this. We were on a little trail we had picked up in Tujunga. I could see the sun setting through the valley.

  5. Cafe: I was out watching but whatever few clouds we had must have blown over there. Anything I did see was gone if I looked away briefly.

Hiker: Thanks!!It's a real compliment for artists to have people seeing through their eyes.

arf! I hadn't really thought of it that way, but that is a really nice interpretation.

PA: I think the sun is below the horizon because that is when I start seeing the lights on the far hill.
