Artist Shanna Galloway Documents The Changing Sky Outside Her Hillside Home/Studio

First begun as color studies for a painting using pastels, Shanna Galloway has developed a series of photographs of skies and clouds with their ever-changing and expressive colors.

  1. hmmm, I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's something especially "well grounded" about this shot. And I like the rays of color radiating up from the intense yellow, into the darker clouds above.

  2. arf!: Maybe it's because I included the ground ! which I usually don't do. But with all those trees in the way, I had to in order to get the expanse of those rays.

  5. Fire in the sky radiating up from the ground. This is absolutely astounding.

  6. pasadjacent: I don't know the name of the hill or the name of ours either. In the past there was a neon sculpture over toward the right. We miss it. I'll have to drive over there to see if I can figure out more about it.
